Whether monumental or discreet, Claudia Passeri’s works blend into their environment by adapting to its specific characteristics. Using a wide array of techniques, Passeri reacts to the social, historical or political situations with which she is confronted during her interventions.
Her Sunset Finale on a pond in Schlassgoart Park materialises in the landscape like a third sun. The first is obviously the sun we know, and Passeri alludes to a second sun which, in her childhood, used to shine day and night over the cityscape: the liquid, incandescent steel from the Belval steelworks. Her installation reminisces this past by means of a large, round floating platform that distrupts the reflections on the surface of the water, like a painted motif that has been added to the natural landscape.
